Balance the Plant Life Throughout Your Yard—Even Where Sunlight is Scarce
Not every plant needs non-stop sunlight to grow. In fact, there are many beautiful plants that prefer to be in the shadow of your house, trees, or other plants. These shade plants can add colorful variety to your yard or garden, and, because water doesn't evaporate as quickly in the shade, they're an excellent drought-tolerant choice that will demand fewer resources to survive and thrive.
At Shades of Green Nursery + Landscape, we have a variety of Texas native shade plants for you to enjoy. Because not every plant requires the same amount of shade and sun, we can show you which plants require light shade, partial shade, full shade, or dense shade, and help you determine which areas of your yard can provide the right balance for your chosen plants.
We want your plant life to thrive at home, so we'll do everything we can to send you out of our garden center with healthy shade plants and the knowledge you need to put them in the right space. Because we're drought-tolerant landscaping experts, we can also help you install your new plants or even design an entirely new landscape around them. Contact us for directions to our garden center and nursery, or to learn more about the wide selection of shade plants we have in stock.

Reach Out to Learn More About Shade Plants
Why garden in the shade? Why not! Just because there's an area of your yard that doesn't receive much sunlight doesn't mean you should leave it empty. Planting in those areas will help you control erosion and bring more beauty and enjoyment to your yard, and you may find it easier to garden in the shade. It requires less water, weeds don't do as well in the shade (so you may have fewer pest problems), and you'll be as protected from the sun as your plants are if you need to do any work in the area!
Contact us for directions to our garden center, and don't forget to inquire about the shade plants we have in stock. We'll help you choose the right ones for your yard.
