Ornamental Grasses Add Striking Texture and Color to Your Garden and Yard
We grow and sell a wide variety of ornamental grasses at Shades of Green Nursery + Landscape. Ornamental grasses are a little different from everything else. They aren't flowery, they don't provide you with food, and they aren't big and strong like a tree. Instead, grasses play a unique role in your landscape, adding drama, texture, and depth in ways that no other plant can do. When the breeze ripples through a stand of tall grasses, it may remind you of the movements on the sea. Grasses have a tendency to change and grow rapidly throughout the year, creating more variety and interest in your yard.
The grasses for sale at our nursery range from showy ornamental types to stabilizing types that prevent soil erosion. Some types work well in containers, others are great in borders, and some work well combined with other plants. The heights of the grasses vary, as do the colors. In fact, some varieties of ornamental grasses change color depending on the season.
As with all our plants and trees, we only grow and sell native or adapted ornamental grasses that will thrive in our soil and climate. To further ensure you choose a grass type that will thrive on your property, we'll ask you specific questions about the amount of sun your plants will be receiving and the amount of water they'll be getting. You can rely on our extensive knowledge of native grasses so that you can plant them in your garden and landscape with confidence.
